Title says it all. Has anyone ever succeeded? I have non steam versions of L4D2, which I want to get it to work like the steam version of L4D2

Ik theres ways to get Multi-player working. But i dont know about getting it work WITH steam.

But you can use a program like Evolve to go online too.

I've seen Left 4 Dead 2 on the Game List. A lot of people are playing.

I only have the 360 version and yes I beat that game.

having the steam version is good, I like using model and sound mods for it :)

@Bruce, u can do that with the cracked version as well.

However i know u can play online in L4D2 using a program like Evolve, Hamachi or any other LAN Based Server Program.

She has a point, and we tested Evolve with Team fortress 2. Sometimes a good vpn is handy for online if you dont want to deal with player haters.

Just remember that in games like L4D2 u still need to portforward if u wanna play online. If your the one who will always host, then only YOU need to portforward. The Ports can be found online.

ik this may sound stupid but its just me being kind :) if anyone wants certain games on steam, but ye dont have the money for it, I can easily get it if ye ask :) im here to help my friends if needed

Its easier to play SP yes. But if its a game based on MP then getting a cracked game to play MP requires extra steps.

They require LAN Programs like Evolve. And even Steam bought games that use Source require portforwarding (just had to add Ports for TF2 so Rel could play with me)

not really, there are ways to get tf2 working with hamachi. the same method can be used to adapt it to evolve.

plus you can get another steam account and hack steam.

1: Hamachi Sucks IMHO (doesnt work all the time in my Experience)
2: Why would u hack steam?

Hacking steam would take more time then just making ports ._.

Seriously, if u know ur IP and the ports u can do it in 1 minute.

steam already has been hacked. there is a patcher for it out there that gives you access to some of it games.(mainly source games)

ik some people wouldnt have a problem with hacked games etc, but me personal I'd rather buy them, least then ik iv got them legally ^^

Hacked Steam or not, i think im gonna stick with portfowarding. I think its safer to just make ports (Which u can do in 1 minute per game).

@Bruce: If i had the cash available id buy the games too. Id buy all the games i have now. Battlefield 4, and all my doujin Games. I just dont have the cash atm.

THAT would be amazing! Add Cal in the mix and we got ourselves a 4-way Deathmatch :D
And Hikari's got a point. I was lucky To get some cash for steam so I'd buy her a real copy of Dark Souls as my Early Christmas Present for her.

anyways, i don't play tf2. i found loadout to be a better game cause of its customizable weapon and blowing holes in others chests or blowing up heads even XD
